I observed Tanga delivering a workshop on 'Personality' at one of the Challenger Academies. The nature of the workshop, complimented by Tanga's calm and assured facilitation allowed for an environment where the students were able to safely share and explore their thoughts and feelings. The students were articulating their emotions with impressive clarity whilst maintaining a mutual respect for one another. Tanga's work is providing an important contribution towards character development and a more emotionally integrated culture within our school settings.

At Lancot, we collaborated with Tanga from Spirit Forge on a large scale curriculum project, integrating diversity and inclusion through the medium of rap. Tanga captivated the pupils from the moment he met them; he skilfully manages groups of pupils, leading calm, focused and engaging discussions and learning opportunities. Using Spirit Forge transformed the curriculum learning journey and outcomes for the year group he collaborated with and it was a joy to watch their skill and confidence soar through this experience. We have since joined forces with Spirit Forge once more for a future project which has been developed through joint planning in order to create a bespoke learning journey, aligning the core values of Spirit Forge with our school improvement and pupil needs. Tanga and Zoe are professional, flexible, supportive and a true pleasure to work with; I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Tanga has led sessions in Daubeney Academy with whole classes, as well as with mixed and specialist cohorts of vulnerable students and higher achieving students. On all occasions, Tanga’s carefully and expertly posed questions have led to a deepening of learning within the classroom, with a number of students affected profoundly and positively by the issues raised and the lessons learned. When we have asked Tanga to work with our students, the purpose has been to extend the learning that has already been covered in lesser detail in school and to introduce our young people to new ways of thinking that will benefit them as they grow into adults who can contribute to a harmonious and effective society.

Tanga spent a day delivering Philosophy sessions to pupils at Coldfall Primary School. Pupil voice was at the centre of everything that he delivered as he skilfully facilitated deep thinking and reasoning through his questioning of children’s perceptions and preconceptions. The pupils were all incredibly engaged throughout and enjoyed having the opportunity to explore their views, and those of their peers, without be overly directed by an adult. As a teacher it was enlightening to see children interacting with their friends in this way, with minimal interjections from Tanga. It is clear that his aim is to encourage independent, critical thinking in young children – a skill that is becoming increasingly important in the age of digital content and social media. I would highly recommend booking Tanga; both the pupils involved in his session and the teachers observing gained a new insight into thinking philosophically.
